PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Carers,

This weekend our Church celebrates the Feast of Corpus Christi which translates from Latin to "Body of Christ."

This feast calls us to focus on two manifestations of the Body of Christ, the Holy Eucharist and the Church. The primary purpose of this feast is to focus our attention on the Eucharist. At every Mass our attention is called to the Eucharist and the Real Presence of Christ in it. The secondary focus of this feast is upon the Body of Christ as it is present in the Church.

Annual Survey to inform the SHPS community

We encourage all families to participate in the annual school survey. This survey - “Tell Them from Me’, is an important and valuable way for SHPS to hear the voice of students, parents and teachers in our community, affirming what is going well and looking towards ways of improving our school. The survey ling will be sent out on Compass later today.

Staff Leave

We wish the best and every blessing to Mrs Laura Stumbles as she begins her well deserved long service leave on Monday. Her students look forward to hearing about her family travels.

We wish Mrs Lisa Davis the best and every blessing as she enjoys the opportunity to spend time with family on a well deserved long service leave holiday.

No Newsletter for the next 2 weeks

Please note that while Mrs Davis is away there will be no newsletter (weeks 8 and 9). Reminders and important information including birthdays and awards will be sent out to families through the Compass platform.

Parent/ Teacher Communication

Staff are busily preparing reports for parents to share student progress for the end of Semester 2. These reports will be available to parents through COMPASS at the end of week 9. We will send out a notification through Compass to let parents know when they are available online

Confirmation

Congratulations to all students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last weekend. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to Mrs Katie Imbriano for leading the preparation of a beautiful and meaningful retreat for candidates in the Parish hall last Friday.

PEER SUPPORT

This Friday we will begin our Peer Support Program led by our Year 6 students and supported by year 5 students. This year’s theme is resilience. The aim of the program is to work on strategies together to help students deal with life's challenges.

Take care and keep safe
