Principals Report
Remembrance Day
We remember by taking a moments time
We remember how they had risked their lives
We remember by seeing poppies grow
We remember bowing our heads
Exert from a How Do We Remember? By Julianna Hogan (12 years of age)
As previously advertised we will celebrate Remembrance Day next Monday morning at 10.30am.
National Recycling Week 11th - 17th November
In 1996, Planet Ark founded National Recycling Week to bring a national focus to the environmental benefits of recycling. Now in its 24th year, this established and highly regarded annual campaign continues to educate and stimulate behaviour change, by:
- Giving people the tools to minimise waste and manage material resources responsibly at home, work and school.
Our environmental student leaders have been busy preparing activities to raise awareness in the Sacred Heart Community.
We would also ask that families help us to promote a healthier environment in our community next week by supporting our current programs.
- Lids for Kids
Lids off plastic drink and milk bottles can be put in yellow bin in the bike cage.
- Bottle recycling
We get 10c for every can or bottle brought in. Please place in the yellow bin. The money raised does go back into the school to buy resources.
- Waste Free Wednesday
Bring your recess and lunch in containers or suitable recycling materials to cut down on waste.
Maybe think of one thing your family could do at home to contribute minimising in the wider community.
Yours faithfully,
Anne Staines
