Principal's News

Dear Community,

What a fantastic day we had last week at our annual Cross-Country Carnival! The weather was perfect, and the spirit of our school community was on full display. A huge thank you to our incredible staff and parent volunteers who made the event run smoothly, whether you were cooking up a storm on the BBQ, marshalling the course, or cheering on our young runners, your support made all the difference.

A special shout-out to Laura Stumbles, our sport coordinator, who coordinated the day. Her effort and dedication were truly appreciated.

Congratulations to all our students who ran their hearts out, we are so proud of your resilience and determination!

Mother’s Day Breakfast & Mass

This Friday from 8am, we look forward to acknowledging all mothers, grandmothers, and significant women in our children’s lives, with our Mother’s Day Breakfast. Enjoy a bacon and egg roll or yoghurt with granola and berries. Tea and coffee will be available. All families are warnly invited to join us. We kindly ask for a gold coin donation per person to cover costs.

Following breakfast, classrooms will be open for visits. At 9:30am, we will gather in the church for our whole-school Mother’s Day Mass, hosted by Year One, where we recognise and celebrate the incredible women who shape our lives.

We hope all our wonderful mums, grandmothers, and special women have a beautiful Mother’s Day this Sunday—and get truly spoiled!

Trivia Night – Lock in the Date!

We are excited to announce our Trivia Night in the School Hall on Saturday, June 14th! Doors open at 6pm and the first round of questions begins at 7pm. This parent-only event is designed to bring our school community together for a fun and friendly competition night.

Gather a table of 8–10, or let us know if you’d like to be placed on a team. Either way, just email Community Council to secure your spot!

There will be prizes, raffles, and games throughout the night, with all proceeds going towards the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, which I will be participating in once again.

Entry is just a gold coin donation. Please bring your own food and drinks for a relaxed and enjoyable evening.

Enrolments for 2026 – Apply Now!

This is a friendly reminder that enrolments are now open for all ACT Catholic Schools. The application deadline is Friday, 30th May, at 5pm. Late applications cannot guarantee placement, so please help us spread the word.

We’ve already received many enrolments for 2026, so if you know families considering joining our wonderful school, let them know about our next Open Day on Wednesday, 21st May (9–11am and 4–6 pm).

We look forward to welcoming new families, and siblings of our existing families, into our community.

School uniform concerns

We understand that we’re currently experiencing a mixture of warm and cold weather, but all students must adhere to our school uniform policy. However, we’ve noticed many uniform inconsistencies lately, and we want to remind everyone of the importance of wearing the correct attire and ask all parents to assist us by following the uniform policy.

Our school uniform is more than just clothing—it fosters a sense of pride, identity, and belonging within our community. It ensures equality, eliminates distractions, and promotes a respectful and disciplined learning environment.

Some everyday uniform concerns at the moment:

  • Hats – Many students are wearing the wrong hats. Beanies are not permitted until June and July.
  • Jumpers—Students should wear the correct school jumper. Some students wear their sports jumper with their normal uniform (and vice versa), and some even wear totally random jumpers.
  • Shoes – Please wear appropriate school shoes- our policy is formal black school shoes;
  • One small gold or silver stud or sleeper earring, one per ear;
  • Rings and bracelets are not permitted;
  • Watches, medical chains or medical bracelets are acceptable;
  • Make-up is NOT permissible;
  • Fingernails must be kept short. Nail polish is NOT allowed;
  • Hair should be of natural colour, of even grade (no shorter than a No 3 comb) and ALL extremes avoided; and
  • Shoulder length and longer hair needs to be tied back with simple natural or uniform-coloured bands, ties or ribbons.

A copy of our uniform policy is available on our website under ‘policies and forms’.

We appreciate your support in maintaining our uniform standards and ensuring students represent our school with pride and consistency. If you have any questions or concerns regarding uniform expectations, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

In faith and partnership,
